Pas-de-Calais is a well-kept French secret, often missed by travellers heading further south. Within this department lie Les Sept Vallées (the 7 valleys); a simple but charming farming region with beautiful countryside, friendly people, great restaurants, cafés and shopping – and all just 40 minutes from golden sandy beaches.
Situated at the crest of a hill between the Canche and Authie valleys in an ever-changing landscape of undulating farmland, is Ferme de Reffy, on the edge of the tiny hamlet of St. Josse au Bois.
Ferme de Reffy dates from 1650. The land is no longer farmed; instead you can relax in our luxury holiday cottages converted from the original farm buildings, whilst enjoying 8.5 acres of park-like grounds.
It is a 5 minute drive down the valley to the village of Douriez where you will find a Restaurant/Bar and a Boulangerie (Bakery) which also stocks milk and other essentials. (A bike ride away for the more energetic!). 15 minutes drive is Hesdin with it's main square, street cafes, boutiques and a traditional weekly outdoor market. In and around Hesdin, you will find everything you need for your self-catering holiday. 15 minutes in the other direction is the renown historical town of Montreuil-sur-Mer, the setting for Victor Hugo's Les Miserables. Montreuil is a beautiful old town to wander around and it boasts a great selection of restaurants.
For days out, we are approx 30km from the long sandy beaches of the Côte d’Opale and within an hour, you will find beautiful gardens & historic war sites. For the more adventurous, there is golf, trout fishing lakes and 4x4 off-roading. For children; a maize maze, activity parks & a chocolate factory.
